Open Gardens
Every June, Hall Place in Beaconsfield host a special fundraising event by opening up their beautiful gardens to visitors for one afternoon to raise funds for our gynaecological research projects
The stunning gardens of Hall Place, Beaconsfield opened up for a special fundraising afternoon on Sunday 11th June 2023. From 2-5.30pm, visitors enjoyed the peaceful grounds of this Grade 2 Listed 18th Century home. The origins of the gardens themselves date from the 16th Century and the current owners have sympathetically restored the gardens to reflect their Tudor heritage.
The event raised funds to support the research projects carried out by Professor Marcia Hall and her colleagues. Currently Marcia is fundraising for a study to obtain more information about specific rare gynaecological cancers. The project is creating an anonymised national registry of patients with these rare gynaecological cancers and this information will help doctors to better understand how these rare cancers are diagnosed and managed at present so that in the future they can be more confident about what treatments to offer patients.
With live music from local jazz band BSV, afternoon tea and plants for sale from Smith’s Garden Centre it was a fantastic day for an excellent cause, raising over £5,000.
Thank you to all who came along in 2023. Watch this space for the announcement for the 2024 date!
